Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Clark County Criminal History, including reading its content and using a displayed search feature. Using the website means that the visitor accepts all terms below. A visitor who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service designed for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Clark County Criminal History is not a private investigator or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Clark County Criminal History is an independent reference, not a government service. It does not keep official records, conduct agency background checks, retrieve files, or submit forms for visitors.

Its content points to Clark County offices, Washington courts, Washington State Patrol, and the Washington State Sex Offender Public Registry, as well as outside tools that may assist personal research. Public access to Washington agency records is governed in part by the Washington Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, while the Criminal Records Privacy Act, chapter 10.97 RCW governs criminal-history dissemination and correction. Those laws do not make this private website an official source.

2. Rules for Using This Site

A visitor agrees not to:

  • Violate federal, Washington, or local law through use of the website
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Use website content for a decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Seek unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Interfere with availability or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service may not be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Registry information requires special care. Washington makes it available for public safety, not retaliation or vigilantism, and misuse may lead to legal consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Clark County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not prepare consumer, credit, or background reports. A visitor must not use the website or a linked result to:

  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate an applicant for housing
  • Assess credit or insurance eligibility
  • Decide access to a license, permit, or public benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally compliant official process must be used whenever a regulated decision requires a check. Washington State Patrol or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider can explain the proper channel.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Clark County charge, warrant, judgment, vacation, deletion, or sealing rule applies to one person's circumstances. A licensed Washington attorney should address legal questions.

6. No Warranties

The website and its content are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

  • Information is always accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will remain uninterrupted
  • Every page will be free of defects or security risks
  • An outside search tool will return complete or correct results

Clark County and Washington records change as cases progress, orders issue, and agencies update systems. Only the office that maintains a record can provide an official current version.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government pages, legal resources, or outside search providers that are not controlled by us. Their content, prices, availability, security, and data practices remain their responsibility. Review the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Clark County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, reliance on its content, or use of any linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, action, demand, expense, or legal fee arising from that visitor's use of the website or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Washington law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in the State of Washington.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access to the website at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
